Jos Verschueren

Jos Verschueren (Mechelen, °1964) is Programme Director Sports, Esports and Cycling Management at Vrije Universiteit Brussel (Brussels Free University – Belgium) – Faculty of Physical Education and Physiotherapy – Department of Movement and Sports Sciences. He is also Founder and Manager of the Sport Management Knowledge Centre at the same university. He has over 25 years of business consulting and academic lifelong learning experience in sports marketing and communication, sports partnership branding, sports and business and management. Back in 1995 he started Com Together – Sports & Communication (in Lennik near Brussels) as a spin-off of his academic activities. He serves a broad range of clients in developing corporate sports partnership strategies, forging cross-brands sports alliances (e.g. Belgian Olympic and Interfederal Committee) and enhancing performance through sports partnership effectiveness (e.g. National Lottery). He is a regular media spokesman on sports industry matters and has participated to sports marketing and media conferences around the world. He holds university degrees ‘cum laude’ and ‘summa cum laude’ from KU Leuven-Campus Brussels (Master in Applied Linguistics, English, Spanish, Dutch), from ULB, Université Libre de Bruxelles / Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management (Executive Master in Marketing and Advertising), from RUG, Rijksuniversiteit Groningen – The Netherlands (Executive Master in Sports Management) and from UNIL, Université de Lausanne – Switzerland (Diploma in Sociology, Politics and Management of Sport). A Dutch/Flemish native-speaker, he is fluent in French, English, Spanish and German.
